My name’s Ashley Gemmell!
I have always been a creative-minded person, no matter what class I was in I was always doodling on my pages or adding things to the titles of the pages to make them more interesting. I always knew that my skills and heart lied in a creative field and I can't wait to see where it takes me.
Throughout the years, I’ve combined my visual art skills (ie. Sketching, painting, sculpting) with the digital aspects I’ve learned throughout my 3 years of the Graphic Design program. Taking projects through the thumbnail, Roughs, Semi-Comp, and Final stages. Being able to build a branding of my own has been a process I’ve been developing along the way.
Within the Graphic Design program, I am learning all there is to know about Adobe Creative Cloud and what it has to offer (ie. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) as well as web development in Figma. I am also developing skills that come along with photography and the ways around editing photos (ie. Lightroom). Before enrolling in the program I had no idea such a wide range of digital art was a possibility, even though I have developed skills throughout my three years. I believe that with Creative Cloud, you are always learning no matter how long you’ve been in the industry.
After I graduate from the Graphic Design program I hope to be hired on as a junior designer at a company within my field. After being exposed to the design atmosphere before graduating, I hope that my skills will stand out enough to allow me the chance to show my skills by providing designs for an amazing company.
